Project is funded through Transforming Local Infrastructure, which is being delivered by Big Fund, the non-lottery arm of the Big Lottery fund. Transforming Local Infrastructure is providing better support for frontline civil society organisations by transforming local infrastructure organisations.
This is a partnership Project between Slough Councillor Voluntary Service (the lead partner), Volunteer Centre Slough, SBCP Berkshire Community Foundation and Social Enterprise Berkshire. The overall aim of the project is to deliver a stronger, more sustainable third sector infrastructure for Slough.
The team is getting together with the idea of combining resources and streamlining the package of support offered to local groups. Local civil society organisations will gain the skills to use volunteers more effectively as a result of the combined resources of all local infrastructure organisations.
Volunteer Centre Slough being one of the partner in the TLI team,is focused in helping local voluntary and public sector organisations toincrease the capacity for volunteering through its Capacity Building Manager(CBM). CBM will understand the current standards and practices prevailing inthe various Organisations and Charities working with Volunteers and understandthe areas (like recruitment, volunteer management, training), that can beimproved to help Volunteer Mangers to work more closely and productively withtheir volunteers.
